Rivers Nursery Site Wildlife
The Rivers orchard, meadow and scrubland is home to over 200 recorded species, including several listed as endangered. Examples include the Turtle Dove, Song Thrush and the White Letter Hairstreak, Brown Angus, Small Copper and Small Blue butterfies. The site is designated as a County Wildlife Park.
For many years, RHSO member Charmaine Cooper kept a monthly wildlife diary, "Wild @ Rivers" from her visits to the site. Those diary entries taken during her time with RHSO (2014 to 2018) can be read here.
