Volunteering with RHSO
The group functions entirely on the generous work of our volunteers who take part in activities ranging from orchard maintenance, archive keeping and research and promotional activities. If you would like to join us or keep updated on our volunteer events, please get in contact, subscribe to our Google calender, mailing list or follow us on twitter.
Our main volunteering events are our monthly maintenance days on the first Sunday every month starting at 10:30 am. Activities depend on the time of the year but include pruning fruit trees, maintaining the hedges around the orchard and preparing for our main events. No expertise is required - instruction is provided. No need to let us know in advance - just turn up on the day. A diary of past maintenance days is available.
Our volunteers also attend local events to sell our apple juice. At our main community events we also need volunteers to run the events, serve refreshments, bake cakes and show the members of the public around the orchard.
Please get in contact by e-mail or otherwise if you are interested in volunteering with us.
The RHSO committee send many thanks to the volunteers at events over the past year including: Rob, Eugene, Hazel, Dave, Michael, Eric, Ruth, Adrienne, Elisabeth, Elizabeth, Keith, Steve, Lanier, Robinne, Barrie, Paul, Nikkie and Geoff. We couldn't have done it without you! Apologies to any left of this list...
