Annie Elizabeth is an old, very reliable late-season cooker. It was raised by Samuel Greatorex at Knighton, Leicester, circa 1857. It is a very handsome apple with a highly ornamental blossom.

Its shiny skin is pale green, which turns to yellow as the fruit matures. It displays an orange-red flush, overlaid with varying amounts of broken, bright-red stripes.
