There is only one Miller's Seedling tree in our orchard but it is one of my favourite early season dessert apples. It was raised by James Miller of Newbury, Berks. in 1848. It received the RHS Award of Garden Merit in 1906.
It is a small to medium-sized, round-conical apple with very white flesh which is refreshingly juicy and sweet. Its skin is yellowy-green with short, broken red stripes.
Miller's Seedling is picked in August and can be eaten straight from the tree. Its season of use is limited to one month. It is one of the smallest trees in Rivers Orchard.
