Wassail 2025
Saturday January 25th 2025
RHSO's Annual Wassail will take place on Saturday 25th January, 6:00 to 7:30pm.
The Rivers Nursery was founded in 1725, so throughout 2025, we will be celebrating 300 years of the Nursery in Sawbridgeworth. The Wassail will be the first fully public event of the year. In light of this, we will be introducing a new Wassail song!
The wassail fire (in a fire pit!) and singing (click for lyrics) will take place just outside the orchard on the land just to the South next to the Rivers Hospital access road (see map below). The tree blessing will take place just inside the orchard.
Refreshments (cakes, hot drinks, mulled cider, and mulled apple juice) will be available at the event. Live music and traditional Wassail singing will take place.
Access
Please do not park cars along the access road. For this event, limited car parking is available in Rivers Hospital staff carpark on the opposite side of the road. If walking, we advise that you come from High Wych Road, because the route from The Crest is likely to be dark and muddy! See a local map for more information.
