It's Spring in Rivers Orchard!

Who would dispute that May is one of the most agreeable months in the English calendar? No matter what horrors are happening in the battered wider world, a walk in the Heritage Orchard bestows a moment of peace. Read the article by Charmaine Cooper entitled Rivers Orchard, a Sanctuary for Wildlife, published here on the Rivers 300 website in May, which suggests what we might perceive if we use our senses and look beyond the captivating fruit blossom and bright cowslips. What better way to focus than to stop and draw - then send your work in to:

'Paradise is an Orchard': The Rivers 300 Celebration Study Day.

Rivers 300 Adult Art Competition

This is a call out to people who simply enjoy creating or professionals. Use the Orchard and its flora and fauna and/or its working history to inspire your work. See the article, Rivers Orchard as Wildlife Sanctuary (link above).

Please go to our Art Competition page to find out how to email your submissions, the conditions and more about the history of the site. There’s an optional Orchard visit in early May. Submissions are in mid-June and the Exhibition and Prize-giving is in July. All submissions will be shown in a slide show and some chosen works will be displayed.

May in Rivers Heritage Orchard

Spreading old cherry tree, delicate cherry bloom and pear blossom just fading, while apples burst in clusters of pink. Soft green grass inlaid with cowslips at your feet! Walk into paradise!
